About St. Thomas' College of Engineering & Technology
In a bid to supplement the efforts of the West Bengal Government College and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in expanding the infrastructure of technical education in this region it was contemplated in 2000 to establish an Engineering College for the benefit of students in West Bengal and also in the region. To give the idea a shape, St. Thomas' College of Engineering & Technology was established with the intention to impart quality technical education to the students and imbibe confidence into the young talents graduating from the institution to stand up to the challenges of life with confidence. To ensure this, a plan was made so that it could become a seat of excellence in due course of time. Based on this preamble, St. Thomas' College of Engineering & Technology at 4, Diamond Harbour Road, Kidderpore, Kolkata 700023, West Bengal came into being on 29th August 2000.

Eligibility & Procedure
Original Mark-sheet for qualifying examination & three photo copies. Original Mark-sheet of qualifying examination will be retained by the college till University Registration is complete. However, for any valid purpose, including attending any other counselling, students are allowed to temporarily withdraw their mark-sheet(s). 2) Three copies of age proof (Admit card or Certificate as applicable) with original for verification. 3) Two copies of Class X Mark-sheet with original for verification. 4) Two copies of WBJEE – 2022 / JEE Mains – 2022 Admit card. 5) Proof for WBJEE – 2022 / JEE Mains – 2022 rank and eligibility for admission. 6) Two copies of Allotment Letter issued by WBJEEB. 7) Aadhaar Number of candidate. 8) Domicile Certificate (Candidate belongs to state of West Bengal) 9) Family Income Certificate (For TFW candidate as per WBJEEB norms). 10) Five colour photographs (four passport size & one stamp size). 11) Copy of school leaving certificate/character certificate from the last attended institute with original for verification.. 12) Necessary supporting document for TFW candidates. 13) Medical certificates - (a) on general fitness of the candidate issued by a general medical practitioner to undertake B. Tech. Course (b) from an eye specialist about vision & colour blindness, if any, of the candidate. 14) Students seeking admission must bring their guardian

Placement
Training and Placement cell is functioning in the college for the benefit of the students. Though no guarantee can be given for the placement of all the students, efforts are made to familiarize them with the working in industries. They are trained to present themselves in a manner to suitably expose their potential to prospective employers. While it may not be possible to change their trait and attitude altogether, major thrust will be to provide a finishing touch to their skill and knowledge.

By the sheer performance of the students, this college has already earned a reputation in the industry for its product.
However,attention is drawn to the students having secured less than 60% marks in earlier examination/s and taking admission that there would be very limited opportunities in seeking a job through campus, pooled campus and off-campus drives conducted by the companies.
